How 'Bond girl' model who appeared in opening sequence of Moonraker and earned a fortune as a Marilyn Monroe lookalike secretly battled £250-a-day heroin addiction in her 20s and had to quit the high life to get clean

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 7, 2024
A glamorous model who appeared in the opening sequence of Moonraker has revealed a long battle with heroin use. After being welcomed into high-flying circles with celebrities, Vicki Rebecca, who was paid £1,000-per-day as a Marilyn Monroe lookalike, had the world at her feet. However, the Aberdeen-born fashionista lived a double life, one as a glamorous model and the other as a 'functional' heroin addict, with the former seeing her spend up to £250-a-day on the vice. Such was the crippling effect of her addiction to the illicit drug that she'd sneak away during breaks in filming and shooting to obtain them, including during the historic James Bond opening. According to the 67-year-old, almost half of her 20s was spent under narcotic needles, and she recalls how she was only able to get clean after leaving London and returning to her family in north east Scotland.

EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE: Most of Queen Elizabeth's 600 charities are still without a patron 18 months after her death

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 28, 2024
EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE HARDCASTLE: The majority of her 600-plus charities are now without a patron eight months after the Queen's death eight months after her. They include the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the British Veterinary Association, the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal College of Physicians, London Zoo, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, RSPCA, MCC, RADA, the Royal Philharmonic Society, and the Royal Philharmonic Society. The fact that smaller outfits, such as the Jersey Cattle Society and the Queen Victoria Clergy Fund, aren't losing any sleep, however, has irked the big beasts, as the refusal to revive royal patronages has irked them.

The men who might have been James Bond from Sir Michael Caine's flat no to Sam Neill and James Brolin's failed screen tests are believed to have been invited. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, a self-proclaimed feminist, is expected to have been given the role

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 20, 2024
It was a job he never really wanted, but Sam Neill (left) got as far as auditioning as James Bond. In 1985, the Jurassic Park actor starred as Roger Moore's replacement. In a short clip from Neill's screen test, he's recreating a scene from Sean Connery's 1963 film From Russia With Love. In the end, Neill did not impress producers in his role, and the job was ultimately handled to Timothy Dalton. James Brolin (right in his screen test) would have been the man who replaced Roger Moore after five outings as Bond, not Bond. Moore did two screen tests and was actually Bond, but Moore decided to make Octopussy again in 1983, so Brolin was left out in the cold. Sir Michael Caine (inset bottom, as spy Harry Palmer in the Ipcress File) was reportedly given the role of Bond after Sean Connery resigned as a result of You Only Live Twice. Sir Michael, who is now 91, was not keen on playing Bond. Clint Eastwood, who was inset top in A Fistful of Dollars, was considered for the role in the late 1960s, when Bond investors were trying to replace Connery before he relinquished on his decision to rename Connery as the spy. Eastwood left the role.

I've been re-rating you Mr Bond!British Board of Film Classification says two 007 classics would be given stronger classification if released today due to certain scenes

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 19, 2024
According to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), the age rating of two James Bond films would have been raised if they were rereleased today due to the representation of violence and sexual assault. During a public consultation, Goldfinger and From Russia With Love, both starring Sir Sean Connery and which were released in the 1960s, were discussed as films audiences believe should be more conservative. The inquiry, which involved 12,000 people from around the United Kingdom, aided in the development of the new BBFC classification guidelines, which were released on Tuesday.

Prince Albert of Monaco's Birthday is here. (Just don't expect a card from your accountant!)

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 14, 2024
A royal birthday in Monaco's billionaires' playground is normally a moment for commemoration, fireworks, civic salutation, and a family appearance on the balcony of the Prince's Palace to welcome the crowds. A rendition of Happy Birthday from a military band in dazzling outfits. However, this year, Prince Albert, who is 66 today, may be forgiven for wanting to keep a low profile due to a humiliating remark made regarding the House of Grimaldi's spending habits, which are palatable even by Monte Carlo's lavish requirements.

Princess Charlene of Monaco was away for the majority of 2021 while receiving medical attention in South Africa (pictured left, middle, and right) before moving to a Swiss clinic that purportedly specializes in mental health and addiction research. Cinemagoers are warned that 007's adventures could possibly elude them in an absurd alert from British Film Institute snowflakes

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 4, 2024
The British Film Institute has issued a 'absurd' trigger alert for modern day filmgoers, alerting that 007's films could'cause offence' and enrage modern-day filmgoers. The BFI, which is responsible for promoting and preserving the best of British cinema, has issued a blanket alert about the beloved spy franchise, which last year marks its 70th anniversary. Bond's adventures 'will cause offence today,' say film buffs watching a series of classic films, with big screen hits like Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice including words and themes that were 'prevalent' in the 1960s. A note warning newbie viewers that they will not be taken outside BFI's cinema on London's Southbank (inset). 'Please note that while many of these films feature language, photographs, or other content that is not appropriate in its time, they would still cause offence today (as they did then).' Bond is shown in a scene thrown Pussy Galore (right) to the ground in a barn before pinning her down and shoving her onto her (right). An additional warning about the 1968 release of You Only Live Twice warned that the film contained "outdated racial stereotypes," according to the film, with Bond undergoing cosmetic surgery to look more Japanese (left).

ToM PARKER BOWLES of Squisito in East Sussex addresses the discovery

As he flies to LA and tucks into burgers at a luxury hotel, Harry and Meghan's biographer Omid Scobie brushes off the drama, despite reports that Endgame author's British publisher, 'DID sent a draft manuscript naming "two royal racists" to the Dutch translator.'

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 4, 2023
According to MailOnline, Scobie has escaped the drama surrounding Endgame and flown into Los Angeles for burgers and cocktails. In response to persistent skepticism over the Dutch version of his latest book naming two royals accused of questioning Archie's skin colour before he was born, the journalist and royal author, 42, moved out of Britain. Mr Scobie ate at the Sunset Tower Hotel, which was popular with Hollywood celebrities for decades, with Clark Gable, Errol Flynn, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Caine, Quincy Jones, Roger Moore, and Zsa Zsa Gabor regulars at the art deco museum. His trip to Los Angeles came after he learned that his UK agent did not send Endgame naming the two 'royal racists' in Dutch. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 'cheerleader-in-chief's insistence that he'never submitted a book with the names in it' if true.'

ALISON BOSHOFF: Is Bridgerton's Reggie-Jean Page going to become James Bond?

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 23, 2023
ALISON BOSHOFF: Since he first stepped out as Simon Basset, the oh-sex Duke of Hastings, in Bridgerton in 2020, many fans have been rooting for British actor Rege-Jean Page to replace him. And it seems that he has taken a step closer this week as he has opted to appear in a new film based on The Saint. That's the 1960s TV show that made Roger Moore famous long before he was Bond, and Moore steered the Saint's smooth chatter into his interpretation of Ian Fleming's spy. The film, which will be produced by Paramount, will be based loosely on Leslie Charteris' book about a thief for hire but not a thief with a social conscience. The studio is said to have been a 'post-strike 'priority'.

My parents stayed together for the sake of their kids and it screwed me up - I've had two failed marriages and wish my folks got divorced

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 22, 2023
"I should have married her in the first place," my father said to me a year after my mother died.' Dad, thanks for the memory. However, looking back, there were moments when my parents' 45-year marriage was in such blissful harmony. Nor was the dig particularly unusual. My younger brother was released relatively lightly, but then my father always wanted a boy. Despite the tumultuous atmosphere at home, Stanley and Marjorie's parents, stayed together through thick and thin, perhaps because this was the way things were then. However, far from inspiring me to embrace a life in a war zone, their tenacity made me vow never to relive an innocent child trapped in a war zone.

The death knell for Mayfair's most iconic nightspot?Tara Palmer-Tomkinson became a Bond girl, Jack Nicholson and Prince Andrew partied and Mick Jagger hid his affair with Jerry Hall at celeb hangout Tramp that now faces uncertain future

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 2, 2023
Tramp, a wealthy, popular, and royal playground, has closed suddenly, and it seems that it has been illegally sold. After members of a £1,000 yearly subscription received an email advising them that the club has been canceled, a byword for nocturnal overindulgence, inebriation, and sinking into sensual dissatisfaction in Mayfair seems to be uncertain. Johnny Gold, the club's legendary Founder, opened the club on December 18, 1969. Mick Jagger was a founder member of the First Night, and hellraisers Peter Sellers, Michael Caine, and Richard Harris were with him on the opening night. Tramp became a film and rock 'n' roll celebrity overnight. When in London, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Marlon Brando, and Charlton Heston were all regulars. Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor will both be able to pass by. On one night, three James Bonds, Roger Moore, Sean Connery, and George Lazenby were all in the club having dinner at the same time, which was Tramp's pulling power. Jack Nicholson French-kissed a tramp outside the club's unassuming entrance on Jermyn Street one night. Keith Moon, the Who's legendary drummer, had a penchant for removing all of his clothes and dancing naked. He was barred from removing a crystal chandelier on one occasion, but after his chauffeur returned with £500, he was allowed back 48 hours later, naked and strapped to his iconic white Rolls-Royce's bonnet before bursting away at dawn. George Best was at Tramp. Best once punched regular Sir Michael Caine on a night when the footballer appeared to muscle in on Bill Wyman's birthday, when the footballer uninhibitedly turned up with almost a dozen women in tow. In fact, it was reported that girls dressed up for Annabel's nearby Tramp and then they erupted for Tramp. Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was assured of her entry when she turned up in nothing more than a bikini under an open fur coat for her 21st birthday party.

On the contrary, the nine pairs (pictured left and right) have been chosen on the basis of how normal they are, with often hilarious outcomes.

QUENTIN LETTINGS: Ultra shiny boots, dinky jacket, buttered hair... Rishi was shinier than Roger Moore

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 4, 2023
QUENTIN LETTS: As Rishi Sunak approached the lectern, he shot his wife Akshata the tiniest, loving little wink with his right eye. Rishi, Rishi, makes a refreshing smoothie. Mrs Sunak, the pop-eyed innocence, had just had a surprise appearance as his warm-up artiste. We didn't need warming up after Penny Mordaunt's death, but we didn't need to warm up. She was a pulsing blend of Boudicca, Henry V., and Vyvyan from The Young Ones, and she was born in Blimey. 'Stand Up And Fight!' Ms Mordaunt was still yelling. Michael Gove seemed to be spitting a leak, as he was blinking in the front row. HMS Mordaunt's bombardment continued. Crush their walnuts!Kebab their kidneys! It's something like that. The BBC did not broadcast the Mordaunt address, according to my mother, who was watching from afar. Perhaps, the pre-watershed is too heavy. It was the conference equivalent to an All Black haka.

My dad killed my Bond actress mum, tried to frame an innocent man and then fought over my inheritance - but horse therapy has kept me from spiralling

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 27, 2023
Georgia Lillis, 30, tragically lost her mother at the age of 16 when her father, Eamonn, bludgeoned her to death with a brick on December 15, 2008. When he returned home from a dog walk that morning, Eamonn said he noticed a masked attacker attacking his wife on their garden patio. However, the TV commercialist, who was having an affair with his masseuse, was later found guilty of murder after blood was discovered inside his jumper's sleeve. Georgia says that horses became her "sanctuary" after her mother's death 15 years ago. 'They don't care who you are or how you look,' Georgia said in a letter to the Irish Mirror. When I first started going through the depression that I went through, horses were so important to me.

The actress, 72, defied her youth in a figure-hugging halterneck jacket that fell gracefully to her knees. She strove for her figure with a majestic pair of nude heels and layered over a semi-sheer patterned shawl.
