Robin de Jess (born August 21, 1984) is an American film and theater actor of Puerto Rican descent.

Robin de Jess first appearance in the independent film Camp (2003), in which he plays a gay teen who is punished for wearing a dress to his prom.

Although the film (which also starred a young Anna Kendrick) went relatively unnoticed in mainstream, it did gain a following among musical theater enthusiasts and teens that related to the outcast theme, for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.

Jacob, the sassy housekeeper, received his second Tony Award nomination in the featured category in 2010, when he appeared in La Cage aux Folles in 2010.

On April 18, 2010, the Longacre Theatre opened.

Wilson Jermaine Heredia replaced De Jess in the production on February 13, 2011.

In the Broadway revival of Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre, De Jess played Boq.

In 2019, he was nominated for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role as Emory in The Boys in the Band.

Robin de Jess was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, and she was a brilliant singer.

Michael's first big role came as he was in Camp (2003), where he plays a gay teen who is mocked for wearing drag to his prom. Although the film (which also starred a young Anna Kendrick) went unnoticed in the mainstream, it did gain a following among musical theater enthusiasts and teens who adhered to the outcast theme.

He is perhaps best known for his role in In the Heights, the 2008 Broadway musical in The Heights, for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. He appeared in the revival cast of La Cage aux Folles as Jacob, the sassy housekeeper, earning him his second Tony Award nomination in the Featured Actor category in 2010. On April 18, 2010, the Longacre Theatre opened. Wilson Jermaine Heredia replaced De Jess on February 13, 2011, who was then on the production line. In the Broadway revival of Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre, De Jeshwin performed Boq. He received his third Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play in 2019 for his role as Emory in The Boys in the Band. He reimagined himself in the role of Netflix's 2020 film version.

Jess played Michael in the musical drama tick, tick, tick... BOOM!, Lin-Manuel Miranda's directorial debut, for which he received critical acclaim and a nomination for the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture.

Kumail Nanjiani starred in the clip as Somen 'Steve' Banerjee, whose search for his own interpretation of the American Dream brought about horrific and deadly consequences.
