Robert Tinkler Career

Early life and career

Tinkler became involved in community theatre, appearing in plays and musicals, and was later accepted into the Theatre program at Ryerson University, where he graduated from. Mike Beaver, Jason Jones, and Stacey DePass all met at Ryerson, where they met future sketch comedy collaborators.

In It's Alive, he made his first appearance in comedy. He is an unidentified character. In The Adventures of Sam and Max: Freelance Police, Max appeared. In several Canadian television shows including Pelswick as the title character, Medabots as Spike and Seaslug, Cyberchase as Delete, and Jacob Two-Two as Daniel, Tinkler played multiple characters such as Daniel, Medabots as Spike and Seaslug, and Cyberchase as Jacob Two-Two. Buddy, Surly Squirrel's friend and Redline's friend, was a character in The Nut Job. Buddy, a nut job 2: Nutty by Nature, a role he later reprised in The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature. Salsa the Monkey was pronounced in Franny's Feet. Tinkler, a character in Charles M. Schulz' Peanuts comic strips, will be the new voice of Woodstock, beginning in 2019.

For the sake of voicing Woodstock, Tinkler also voiced Fish and Thing 1 and 2 in The Hat in the Hat, including the unidentified Teacher in PJ Masks and The Bobroom as sketch characters in Inspector Gadget, Howie in Almost Naked Animals, and Beyblade: Metal Fusion as Ginga Hagane.

Tinkler received an Outstanding New Approaches — Daytime Children's at the 36th Daytime Emmy Awards for his work as Delete in Cyberchase.

Tinkler's late teens were involved in community theatre, appearing in plays and musicals, and he was accepted into the Ryerson University Theatre program (later acquiring his BFA hons). Mike Beaver, Jason Jones, and Stacey DePass were among the prospective sketch comedy co-stars at Ryerson. On YTV, his first gig out of school was a series called "It's Alive." The show was of the sketch comedy variety, and while acting on the series Rob was introduced to and became interested in writing. Rob and his then roommates Mike Beaver and Shaun Majumder decided to form the comedy troupe "Beaver, Tinkler, Majumder" following the show's cancellation and growing dissatisfied with a dwindling influx of acting work at the time. Jason Jones, along with Stacey Depass and Jennifer Baxter (who were also on "It's Alive"), joined the troupe soon, and the troupe was renamed "The Bobroom." Rob discovered an affinity for voice-overs during this time, and he bought several animated series including The Adventures Of Sam & Max Freelance Police, X-Men, and Sailor Moon. The troupe was then approached by Milan Curry-Sharples about doing the comedy showcase series Comedy Now after writing, mounting, and performing in numerous live sketch shows with The Bobroom in Toronto and New York City. Despite the fact that this show was more of a platform for stand-up comedians, the idea and production of the sketch comedy series "The Bobroom" for the Comedy Network culminated in the creation and production of the sketch comedy series "The Bobroom." Despite the fact that the series was only on screen for a brief period, Rob learned a lot about characters but not so much as he did. Rob was also featured on feature film projects, including The Tuxedo and Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle, which took place around this time. Rob was granted permission to move to the United States on a full-time basis after beginning with a few pilot seasons in Los Angeles. He has written for various animated series ("Wayside, Pandalian Almost Naked Animals"), as well as several pilot and series (Celebrity Deathmatch), as well as the Fox prime time animated film "American Dad!" In ABC's Notes From The Underbelly, he has appeared in numerous commercials and appeared as Rachael Harris' whipping boy. In Beyblade: Metal Fusion, Rob plays too many characters to name on PBS' The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! Almost every part of Cartoon Network's Almost Naked Animals and Gingka. Rob divides his time between LA and Toronto as he continues to produce series and films. He's also a Creative Consultant on Almost Naked Animals, in addition to acting, writing, and directing.
