Because the teenage leg-spinner is returning home due to a pressing family matter, England will be without Rehan Ahmed for the remainder of their tour of India. The 19-year-old played in the first three Tests but was left out of the penultimate match in Ranchi after England selected slow left-armer Tom Hartley and off-break bowler Shoaib Bashir as their spinners. Despite being left with 14 players for the final Test in Dharamshala in a fortnight and two frontline spinners in Hartley and Bashir, the tourists do not want to draft in a replacement for Ahmed.

TREVOR BAYLISS: My heart goes to England in the World Cup semi-finals... my head says India

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 8, 2022
TREVOR BAYLISS: India has five or six batters of the highest quality, and Virat Kohli, who is back to his best, is the most dangerous of all. I was surprised that Rishabh Pant was not playing in the early stages, but he returned against Zimbabwe and I'm sure he'll be there against England on Thursday. Suryakumar Yadav is getting a lot of buzz, but he has been in the India team for a few years and has established himself as a true star in the IPL. It's not like he appears overnight. There is no doubt he is a good player and has a wealth of experience at 32. When I first met Kolkata, he was with us as a young bloke, in and out of the game, but that flick over backward square leg for six was his go-to shot then. He has become a lot more confident in other shootings now and has established himself as a world-class white-ball specialist.

NASSER HUSSAIN: Kohli is still the master, but he now has a 'Sky' apprentice, who is very talented

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 7, 2022
NASSER HUSSAIN: India plays more Twenty20 cricket than on any other team because of the IPL and is extremely versatile and experienced in this style of the game. In what would be a highly awaited semi-final here in Adelaide on Thursday, they pose a major threat to England. However, there is no doubt that they are under more pressure than they are on the other team in the game. They can go from hero to zero so quickly due to their fanatical help. At the moment, India is riding high and most people are rated as favorites for this World Cup, but if one of them slips up all the surrounding noise could become very loud. If you believe England is under pressure, then multiply it by a million with India.

Jack Leach reveals how England Test captain Ben Stokes will not let him play safe

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 13, 2022
Exclusive INTERVIEW BY RICHARD GIBSON: Edgbaston's post-match revelions were a few drinks down when Jack Leach came out with the line that best sums up England's nimble new approach to Test cricket. Rival teams may have been more effective, according to a delirious staff room, but none will be braver after being converted from a record run chase of 378 to a seven-wicket cruise in defeating India. 'It was the realization from me that India played a lot of the cricket in that tournament.' For three days, we had been outplayed,
