Rineke Dijkstra HonFRPS (born 2 June 1959) is a Dutch photographer.

She lives and works in Amsterdam.

The 1999 Citibank Private Bank Photography Prize (now Deutsche Börse Photography Prize) and the 2017 Hasselblad Award have been given to Dijkstra.

Early life and education

Dijkstra was born in Sittard, the Netherlands, on June 2, 1959. She attended the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam from 1981 to 1986. She spent a few years as an executive photographer, photographing corporate portraits and photos for annual reports.
