After stepping away from basketball to concentrate on his mental stability, Ricky Rubio has announced his retirement from the NBA. Rubio, 33, announced in August that he would not return from the sport indefinitely to address his mental wellbeing, but that the guard has now left the game for good. The Spaniard spoke out on X, hours after it was announced that he had negotiated a contract buyout with his Cleveland Cavaliers team, and said he would continue investigating when the time was right.

According to The Athletic, the Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly discussing the possibility of parting out with veteran point guard Ricky Rubio.
