Permits to scale K2 in comparison to all of the travel expenses, as well as hiring guides and Sherpas. Any K2 trips for the ultra wealthy are available for £54,700 (inset), where climbers have WiFi, hot showers, and heating at base camp, while Western food is available in Pakistan because "the food available to foreigners is not the best for foreigners." However, the prices do not appear to be deterring Westerners, as a record-breaking 207 permits to climb K2 were obtained last year. As eager mountaineers emerged from a deadlock in a narrow passage of ice in August, a Sherpa video showed major overcrowding (right) in a small passage of ice, sparking a slew of traffic jams this week, with mountaineers being banned from climbing over a dead helper (left) while attempting to crack a world record.

Beltway Republicans are more cost-effective than their Democratic counterparts, or at least, that seems to be the case on the golf course. The Washington, D.C., top-100 golfers has been included on Golf Digest's list of presidents, senators, lawmakers, lobbyists, and political titans. 34 members of the Grand Old Party made the list in total, compared to just 10 Democrats. Not only does the Republicans usually get 18 holes in fewer strokes than Democrats, but their top politicians also outperform the opposition party at the highest levels of power.

As Europeans, Canadians, and Australians flock to Cancn, Americans pay attention to a Mexico travel warning

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 29, 2023
According to DailyMail.com, international sunseekers from Australia, Canada, and Europe have supplanted US college students and tourists in Quintana Roo, where Americans have traditionally flocked to holiday resort cities Cancn, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum, before the Biden administration's travel alert put a stop to the holiday festivities. Last week, US officials warned that 'crime in Mexico is at an all-time high and can be deadly, from random street crime to cartel-related assaults.' The warning appeared to be ignored by Americans. They seemed to be in short supply in Cancn for the holiday season, but the warning didn't dampen the party's energy on Kukulacán Boulevard in the Hotel Zone. Emily Doe, 28, of Perth, Australia, frolicked in front of the Hard Rock Café's massive guitar, which belonged to a group of Australians who had flown in for a group holiday. She hadn't heard about the travel warning, but she said she wasn't worried about kidnapping or cartel violence.

Following deadly shootings in Miami, city officials expect to close liquor stores for 2024 spring break

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 28, 2023
Mayor Dan Gelber protested his vehement opposition to the Spring Breakers arriving in Miami Beach during a commission meeting on Monday. The closing of liquor stores, the use of metal detectors, and the staging of ticketed events for next year were all among the items discussed. Despite the city enforcing a curfew on Sunday night, two men fatally shot and revelers jumped on a bus, brawling in streets, and even burning a slushie store on the main drag. During a commission meeting on Monday, Gelber said that he wants to make Miami Beach a less popular destination for Spring Break partygoers. The crowds were impossible to handle this year, according to several South Florida departments. 'We're doing everything we can to tell the world we don't want you here,' Gelber said during Monday's meeting.' Pictured: Spring break shooting victim Jordan Idahosa and Miami mayor Mayor Dan Gelber

Hundreds of protests, mayhem, and violence for the locals, were recorded in Miami, while Fort Lauderdale had only one or two minor incidents with their bikini-clad crowds. During their week-long break, students in Florida flocked to the coast to spend hours on sun-sand beaches and partied the night away, with many avoiding Cancun and Mexico due to safety concerns. Following a string of violent crimes, US officials, including the Department of State, warned Americans against heading to Mexico. In Matamoros, Mexico, four Americans were kidnapped, and two others were killed last month. Authorities in Fort Lauderdale said there were no "significant incidents" in connection with the 2023 Spring Break, including a teen who assaulted Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen and a separate incident involving a brawl in a bar. However, Miami had at least 322 arrests in the same period, with two people dead and one injuring two others.

Hartley, an Ohio boy, was hiding behind a pillar outside the hotel before he rushed at him and knocked him to the ground, causing him to strike his head, according to a police report. Allen, who tragically lost his arm in a car accident in 1984, gave them a sworn statement and told them that Hartley should be prosecuted.
