Ricardo Iorio Life

Riorio (born June 25, 1962 in Ciudadela, Argentina) is an Argentine heavy metal musician of Italian and Native Argentine descent who performed in several of the country's most popular metal bands. He was one of the originals of V8 (1979-1978-1977), and later formed Hermética (1988–1994). He has been Almafuerte's principal composer and concert pianist since 1995. His songs are realistic urban stories about lower-class students as well as Argentine'metalheads'. Despite playing bass with every band he joined, Beto Ceriotti has recently selected Beto Ceriotti to be Almafuerte's new bassist, remaining as the band's main composer and primary composer (mostly lyrics). Iorio, a highly nationalist, has consistently expressed the pride in being Argentine and Argentine, as well as combining indigenous music styles such as tango, Indian, and gaucho music with Almafuerte's heavy metal base. * The young people who attend Almafuerte's show consider him to be like a patriotic guru. He left Buenos Aires to live in the countryside, where the pampa turns into Patagonia. Ana Mourin, Iorio's wife, committed suicide in 2001. Iorio has also participated in numerous projects outside of metal music, including folk musician León Gieco, Rubén Patagonia, Augusto Romero, and Los Fabuloso Cadillacs' bassist Flavio Cianciarulo (they released an entire album titled "Peso Argento). Norberto Napolitano, the late argentinian guitar player who was also known as Pappo, was also involved in the Pappo family, who asked Iorio to record some songs for his "Pappo y Amigos" album.
