Princess Anne beams as she officially opens equestrian college (and she can't resist making a fuss of the horses!)

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 30, 2024
As she visited the college in Nantwich this afternoon, Princess Royal, 73, demonstrated her passion for horses as a keen equestrian. As she landed at the school, the mother-of-two wrapped up in a grey scarf and donned a navy coat, accessorized with a horse brooch. As she talked to the horses and riders, she also stepped into the stables to pay some attention to them - and beamed as she stroked them.

She is known as the no-nonsense Queen. So who else would carry Princess Anne's heavy bags on a long-haul visit to Sri Lanka?

The King's 73-year-old sister is on the island on behalf of the British government to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, as well as a slew of government engagements. Sri Lankan Airlines' Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence and her husband posted pictures of her boarding their aircraft in London, devoid of make-up and lugging two heavy holdalls. Despite a red carpet and a vibrant formal welcome at the other end of Colombo, she shrugged off any bid of assistance and happily carried three bags down the plane's stairs.

King Charles's 'right-hand woman' Princess Anne to visit Sri Lanka next week with her husband to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between the UK and the South Asian island

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 3, 2024
Princess Anne is travelling to Sri Lanka on behalf of the Foreign Office, joined by her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence (both left). Anne, 73, died in Sri Lanka nearly 30 years ago (right) in 1995 as patron of Save the Children to see programs funded by the charity. Because of her brother's love for her brother and her reputation as one of Charles' most hard-working monarchs, she has been dubbed the King's "right-hand woman." In Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, and Jaffna, Buckingham Palace said, the princess will visit local communities and faith groups. During her stay, the princess will also visit Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
