Randy LaJoie Career

Early racing career

When he was 11.5 years old, LaJoie started racing go-karts. He began competing in full-bodied racecars in 1980. At the Danbury Fair Racearena, he was the 1981 track champion in the sportsman division. Danbury retired after the fall, he earned modified rookie of the year awards in 1982.

He made his way to the NASCAR North Tour in 1983, and he was the series' rookie of the year. He made his first attempt at winning the Daytona 500 that season, but did not qualify. He survived the consolation race a year after suffering a horrific crash in the Gatorade Twin 125's race and failed to qualify once more. In 1985, he won five races on his way to the series championship; LaJoie was not recognized until 1988 after a case involving a disqualification at Catamount Speedway was not resolved until then.

Early NASCAR career

In 1985 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, LaJoie made his NASCAR Winston Cup debut. The No. 10 is the fastest in the world. Bob Johnson, a 2007 Snellman Construction-sponsored Chevrolet, started 16th and finished 14th. He ran in his next race at Pocono Raceway, where he placed 29th after suffering engine failure. He made his Busch Series debut in the spring of this year by running four times in his own No. 107. At Charlotte Motor Speedway, 03. Pontiac finished in tenth place, securing a tenth-place finish. He took part in another run at Dover International Speedway in 1987 and finished 10th. He rejoined Frank Cicci Racing in 1989 and had a career-best second-place run at Hickory Motor Speedway after a third-place finish the following season. He came in 26th in points on the season.

He did not return to Cicci in 1990 and competed in a handful of Busch Races in his own No. He was ranked 23rd at Richmond and his best finish was 71. He did not run another NASCAR sanctioned race until 1993, when he was selected to run the No. 328. Dick Moroso, a 20 Fina vehicle, is located in Talladega, Spain. This would be a foolish career move for LaJoie, who sat front of the leaders all afternoon and ended in a surprising second. In the Busch Series, LaJoie had five more races for Moroso and one for BACE Motorsports. His best finish in his first appearance was in second, twice. He was considered by some to be a dark horse in 1994, and he was considered by some to be a distant favorite for the championship. In the No., he worked for Moroso full time. Fina Lube-sponsored Chevrolet made the most popular tenth of the season by a top ten. LaJoie was leading the way early in the season until he fell to 16th place in the final point standings due to a string of poor results and also a lack of effort. He also competed in three Cup tournaments, finishing in the Top 20 in all three of them this season.
