Truelove's review: According to CHRISTOPHER STEVENS, timelessly aided in the dying process that leaves one unanswered

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 4, 2024
CHRISTOPHER STEVENS: Old Tom (Karl Johnson), lying in a hospital bed after a failed attempt to hang himself and full of cancer, summed up the tragic irony of his predicament. He 'I'm on suicide watch,' and 'Do Not Resuscitate.' Doctors will let your own body murder you, but they are not expected to step in and speed up the process. That's the inconsistency of current terminal illness legislation: doctors will allow your own body to murder you. Likewise, anyone who supports a suicide, even by accompanying a loved one to a hospital in Switzerland, Dignitas, is vulnerable to prosecution.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes blasted a British company that runs "exclusive" reindeer hunting trips during the Christmas holidays as 'evil'

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 17, 2023
Since promoting trophy Reindeer hunting trips during the holiday season, animal rights campaigners accused a British firm of destroying "the spirit of Christmas for children around." During three weeks in late summer, Hendry, Ramsay & Waters, operated by businessman Vernon Waters, offers "exclusive" Reindeer hunting trips to Norway's north eastern region. The company does not disclose how much money a trip will cost, but it is estimated that the best rifle for killing a reindeer is thousands of pounds and even suggests to trophy hunters. This trip is being promoted on the company's website, which states, 'Only a few licenses are available for big males, so this hunt is very exclusive and the season is short.' Sir Ranulph Fiennes wrote a poem titled 'cowards' and 'evil', describing the venture as 'the most un-British thing I've ever heard about.' This is undoubtedly proof that trophy hunters are truly evil.

I'm just old; Royle Family star Sue Johnston, 80, slams the way older people on television are depicted as 'either lying in bed dying or driving down the road.'

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 12, 2023
Actress Sue Johnston has attacked the way elderly people are portrayed on television as 'either lying in bed dying or screaming over a walking stick.' The Royle Family and Brookside actress expressed disappointment that the older generations have been "pigeonholed" into characters who were "always on their own." The 80-year-old, who portrayed matriarch Barbara Royle in the hit comedy, said she was fed up with OAPs not having "feelings or families" and was always being viewed as "cranky." Johnston said, 'life isn't like that', according to Radio Times reporter Johnston, who covers euthanasia. A group of over-70s agree to help each other die when their time comes. The show, according to Johnston, was a welcome change from the usual way elderly characters are depicted. When you're in your seventies, you don't have thoughts, feelings, or friendships, but you do,' she told the Radio Times. It's been a pleasure to see a script in which your character isn't a granny sitting in the corner all shrieps or someone sleeping in bed.'

A video of 'dying and abused' frankenchickens at three large farms that supply Co-op supermarkets has surfaced

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 7, 2023
ARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: An animal rights group has released a video showing 'dying and abused frankenchickens' at three different farms that supply Co-op supermarkets. At three farms in Lincolnshire, Activists at Open Cages covertly film the 'deformed and dying' birds' "collapsing in agony." Sheffield Farm, one of the supermarket chain's websites, also appears to be identical to a farm that was featured in a video made and promoted on the supermarket chain's website. The promotional video, which was posted on YouTube with a Co-op logo, shows healthy-looking chickens being raised in clean, wide habitats, cared for by a diligent farm worker. Open Cages claims that a shocking undercover video shot between August and November 2022 shows some birds at the three locations near death and inability to drink or drink.

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Prince William is chastised for trophy hunting allegations, according to EDEN

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 16, 2023
EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Peter Egan, a Downton actor, has chastised Prince William for arguing that trophy hunting of animals could be justified in certain circumstances. Commercial hunting, according to the prince, can have a positive effect on efforts to save endangered animals. However, Egan tells me at the Ban Trophy Hunting Campaign reception at the Houses of Parliament: 'Prince William said, ''I wouldn't do that'', so why does he think it's OK for other people to do it? Only advocate things that you are able to do yourself.'
