Brian Cox, the success of his colleagues' club and charity he founded, is 'gutted' by its demise, as bosses blame train strikes and Covid's effects

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 18, 2024
EXCLUSIVE: The Succession star (bottom right and left) was one of many famous faces to join The House of St Barnabas in London's trendy Soho district in 2013 - a charitable private venue run by people who have lived in poverty. Cox, 77, followed fellow Scot and later-day Doctor Who Peter Capaldi (bottom right, right), and Pulp musician Jarvis Cocker in supporting the project from the beginning as founding members. However, both the club and the charity behind it have been in administration this week after dealing with too many 'rainy days' in the form of the coronavirus pandemic, the cost of living crisis, transportation strikes, and a ceiling collapse last year.

After seeing the effects of Covid, which saw it run out of 'rainy days,' a member's club and charity established by actor Brian Cox and Peter Capaldi goes bust

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 17, 2024
The House of St Barnabas on Soho Square in London has operated as a charity for the homeless for over 150 years, but in 2013 it was turned into an exclusive club for big-name supporters such as Cox (left) and Capaldi (right). It prided itself on retaining people who had suffered with homelessness, and it was also responsible for assisting them in finding their feet with a safe and secure home. The St Barnabas boss announced that it was "the club that never joined the club," combining exclusivity with paid employees, the highest London Living Wage, and a business model that has been declared "unsustainable."

How my dad survived being killed by a Dalek, and he became the first man to kiss Doctor Who's companion Judith

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 25, 2023
As the BBC celebrated the 60th anniversary of the science-fiction television series by airing a specially colored version of the Doctor's first encounter with the Daleks last week, I had to do some time-travelling of my own last week. For those who were young and handsome enough to share the planet Skaro with the Daleks, there was my actor father, playing Ganatus, a handsome Thal. I sat watching, spellbound, and somewhat dumbfounded, but it was more on my couch than it's. Mind you, it might have been different if it had been the Cybermen, as they are still frightening. The fact that Dad once fought the Daleks has been part of Bond family history, but no one of us had actually seen it since it was broadcast. And now he was, his blond hair dyed even more blonde, though the coloring process seemed to have turned him strawberry blonde.
