Peggy Cass Life

Mary Margaret "Peggy" Cass (1924-2004), an American actress, comedian, game show panelist, and announcer.

For her role in the 1958 film Auntie Mame, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture.

Early life

Cass, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, was attending Cambridge Latin School and became involved in acting as a member of the drama club. However, she never participated in any of the club's performances during her entire time at the academy. She spent the majority of the 1940s in search of an acting career after graduation. She started acting at HB Studio in New York City and then got to work with Jan Sterling in a traveling production of Born Yesterday.

Personal life and death

Cass died of heart disease in New York City at the age of 74 at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center on March 8, 1999. Eugene Michael Feeney (1924-2013), a former Jesuit priest and educator, was her second husband. She had no children at the time.
