Wolves agree £8.5m deal to sign Brazilian teenager Pedro Lima despite strong interest from Chelsea

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 17, 2024
Wolves have agreed the £8.5 million signing of right back Pedro Lima from Brazilian side Sport Recife ahead of interest from Chelsea. The 17-year old has a five-year contract in place which he will sign, pending a medical, when he turns 18 on July 1. Chelsea wanted Lima for sister club Strasbourg, who became part of Todd Boehly's BlueCo family last year. But the teenager - who represented Brazil at the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup - has opted to move to Molineux instead.

Chelsea 'set to beat Real Madrid to Brazilian wonderkid' as the Blues line up their second summer signing after landing Tosin Adarabioyo on a free

Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Brazilian wonder kid Pedro Lima, and are set to beat Real Madrid in the race for his signature. The Blues are set to continue the transfer strategy under Todd Boehly of signing some of the world's best young players, and have targeted the teenage right-back. According to GiveMeSport Chelsea's recruitment team have described the defender as one of the best right-backs in world football for his age group. The 17-year-old star currently plays for Brazilian second tier club, Sport Recife, and there is now an expectation that they will get a deal over the line. The West London club remain confident in holding off renewed interest in the player from Real Madrid, but they are keen to get the deal wrapped-up for the young star.

In a hard-fought defeat, a man from Manchester gives Brazil a taste of their own medicine in the Under 17 World Cup

Joel Ndala is the name worth noting as the Young Lions played the final group game of this season in Indonesia. Ndala, the 17-year-old right-footed left winger from Foden's parish, played like a footballer obsessed with the prospect of embarrassing his opponents full-back. Pedro Lima of Brazil should only have left the Jakarta International Stadium writhing over what he did not deserve after 90 minutes of footballing hell.
