A mum left her baby girl alone during a bath, then texted and chatted with her friends over Facebook, as the child drowned in a makeshift tub in her laundry sink. Members of Lavinia Alison Murray's (pictured left) family filled the public gallery of Brisbane Supreme Court on Wednesday, as the 24-year-old pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of her daughter Trinity (pictured right) in 2021.

After passing what seemed to be a well-hidden speed fine trap, a driver heading from Queensland to New South Wales was left outraged. The cameras, which were mounted just meters inside the NSW border on Tourist Drive in the Tomewin Conservation Park, are just one of many along the 3,339-kilometer boundary between the two states that are fighting to stop cattle tick migration. Although the cameras appear to be speed camera video, the devices instead monitor animals that may be transporting cattle across the border that haven't been tested for the deadly insect.
