On Monday's episode of University Challenge, Liverpool Art student Lizzie Mackarel, who has also appeared on Mastermind, introduced herself on the Courtauld Institute of Art staff. However, viewers were taken aback by how she writes her surname, McCarroll not Mackarel, with some of them recounting tales of people they'd encountered who had a name that didn't seem to have been written, including one person named 'O'nion.'
