Holman and the Kudai original members' returned to Chile in early 2016 (Nicole Natalino rather than Villalba).
Career
In the hopes of breaking out of its niche market, the company began accepting song submissions and focusing on performing original material. According to the bandmembers, they renamed CIAO to Kudai, which is derived from the word "native Chilean word kudau, which means "new employee." The group, which now includes four vocalists (Pablo, Tomas, Barbara, and Nicole), released its debut album in 2004, entitled Vuelo (Flight). Vuelo climbed to platinum status after a string of profitable singles. From the first single "Sin Despertar" to the first positions of Chilean music rankings, the group has steadily risen to the top with a Best New Artist nomination from MTV Latin American video music awards for their music video. "Ya Nada Queda" was their second single, as well as their third single, "Escapar." In August 2005, Vuelo became the first platinum model. In the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America 2005, Kudai was nominated for Best Artist—Central Region and Best New Artist—Central Region. En Vivo - Gira 2004-2005, they released their first DVD, which included their 2004–2005 Tour. The album was released in Mexico in July 2006 with a different front cover and the same songs. More than 500,000 copies were sold around the world.
They released Sobrevive, their second album of the year, on June 15, 2006, and became one of the top-selling albums of the year in Chile, earning the gold album award for selling over 15,000 copies. The album was released in Mexico in 2007 and has sold over 350,000 copies around the world.
Nicole Natalino's last album on which she appeared was this album. She left the company due to personal reasons. Gabriela Villalba's voice was replaced by her after Nicole's departure and re-recorded the album containing Gabriela's voice; it was published in Chile on September 26, 2007. With a heavier sound and darker lyrics about anorexia, teenage pregnancy, heroin use, and suicide, the album represented a drastic change in their style.
"Déjame Gritar," the first single from Chile and Argentina, debuted at number one. Nicole appeared in the single's film before her departure and appeared on many music video channels and programs in Latin America, including Top 20 and Top 20. She joined the company as a permanent member of the company and now plays a key role in the company's successful growth. The second single is titled "Llévame," and Gabriela Villalba will appear at all Gabriela Villalba. The new member appears in the video, which was shot in Chile's Andes. In Latin America, this version of the record was widely distributed. The track listing was also modified a bit in addition to replacing Nicole. The song "Si He Tocado El Suelo" was disregarded, and a new one titled "T" was added.
Quiero mis Quince, (English: My Super Sweet 16), was also the theme for MTV Latin America's show, Quiero mis Quince. The organization received the MTV Latin American video music awards for Best Central Artist and Best Pop Artist on October 19, 2006, thanking both their followers and Nicole. They were invited to the Via del Mar Festival in February 2007 as a result of the group's success. En Vivo: Desde Mexico's first live album (fourth overall) was released on October 2, 2007.
They moved to Mexico to begin their international career and left Chile towards the end of 2007. Kudai stopped playing in Chile during the Festival de Via del Mar, which was their last appearance in the country before now. In Latin America, Kudai has revolutionized punk and rock music. Nadha is the band's third studio album. The album features 12 songs, six of which were written by producer Koko Stambuk (ex-musician of Glup!). Carlos Lara, the producer of RBD, is accused of being the RBD's producer and has performed with artists including Lynda Thomas and Ricky Martin. Cathy Lean (Ex-Mal Corazón), a Chilean artist, also wrote two of the album's songs. Kudai interpreted Alanis Morissette's and her band's bassist Eric Avery's songs (ex-Jane's Addiction). The album was produced at Igloo Music in Los Angeles, under Gustavo Borner's direction, who has worked with well-known artists like Diego Torres, Ricky Martin, Sin Bandera, Sin Bandera, Plácido Domingo, and N'Sync, as well as working on Rush Hour 2 and Finding Nemo's motion picture soundtracks.
Gabriela Villalba, a Kudai band member, has said that this album is a turning point in Kudai's musical career:
According to rumors, Kudai may have appeared in World Peace One in 2008. The team may be based in Berlin, Germany, but other reports indicate that they might be in Puerto Rico. They appeared on Skimo as well as "Déjame Gritar," as they were also on one episode of Skimo. Nadha's album was a hit in Chile on May 3, 2008, and the entire Latin America region in Mexico was awarded gold medals for their sales. Kudai premiered their latest music video on May 12, 2008 (Be Well). The song is part of a movement against obesity, anorexia, and bulimia, as well as being well-behaved and getting out of Mexico. The singers are seen on a tour bus in Mexico City performing various stretching and cardiovascular exercises, as well as daily activities. The band will debut in the United States on August 5, 2008, with their first album being released there. In Latin America, Nadha's second single, "Nada Es Ida," was launched on July 21, 2008.
At the Latin Grammy Awards, the album has been selected for "Best Pop Album by Group or Duet" and will be held at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, on November 13th.
"Hoy Quiero" was their first single for Chile in January 2009. "Ladrando a La Luna," a single of the 2008 Disney's film Bolt, was released on January 22, 2009.
As former member Nicole Natalino announced the band's reunion with their bandmates in November 2016, the band announced their return with the original lineup in November 2016. They also announced the debut of a new song on record recently.
