Harper Ayton, who was seen cuddling by her mother, was on holiday with her parents Alex Chadkirk, 28, Timothy Ayton, 40, and grandparents Andrea and Derek Chadkirk before the tragic incident on Monday evening. Timothy is said to be in a critical illness in a local hospital where the remainder of the family, who are believed to be from South Shields, is also receiving medical attention.

Olivia Brown (left), 23, will be charged as she appears in court tomorrow. Brown 'out of control' vehicle mounted the pavement and slammed into the family, according to police on the island. She is currently under house arrest and could be sentenced to prison for causing the death of the newborn baby. Brown and her parents live on the island and are thought to have worked at a hotel in Playa Blanca, where the tragedy occurred.

Since a years of activism led by high school students, a street in New York that honored a Ku Klux Klan leader has changed name. Last year, the village board of Malverne, on Long Island, voted to rename Lindner Place, honoring Paul Lindner, a banker who helped build the village more than a century ago and also served as a New York State Klan great titan. When Lindner Place was named Acorn Way last week, the transition was official.
