Federal officials also built a sprawling tent city outside El Paso, Biden's welcome mat for refugees

As officials scramble to brace for a surge in crossings after Title 42's closes, a massive 'tent city' for migrants arriving in the United States from Mexico is under construction on the fringes of El Paso. In a stretch of desert about 20 miles northeast of downtown El Paso, a massive processing center that covers several football fields is being constructed. In recent days, trucks carrying equipment and machinery have been delivering regularly to the site. Security guards told DailyMail.com that the center could be in place for 'a few weeks or six months, we don't know', indicating that it will end. Despite the fact that Title 42 will come as soon as midnight on Tuesday, reports indicate that the site isn't scheduled to be ready until about January 10. On Tuesday morning, workmen were wrapping up the main, soft-side tent, which is expected to last about two football fields. Around the main building, other tents were also under construction. As Title 42 comes, the speed and severity of the operation reveal the drastic steps border patrol agents are taking to avoid chaos. Several more of the facilities could be built around El Paso in the coming days and weeks. Rows of shipping containers and makeshift offices were set up around the site to coordinate the frantic building process.

As two busloads are dumped outside the VP's house, Kamala Harris gives migrants the cold shoulder

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 25, 2022
After two busloads were dumped outside her Washington, D.C. home on Christmas Eve, one of the coldest nights on record, Vice President Kamala Harris gave hundreds of migrants the cold shoulder. According to CNN, the group remained outside in the freezing 18 degree weather, with some people only wearing T-shirts. Some people were given blankets and were escorted to a local church, while others were taken to another bus. In dangerously low temperatures on Saturday night, it's unknown who is to blame for the Christmas Eve migrants' transport to the Naval Observatory, but Texas Governor Greg Abbott admitted that he had sent buses of migrants north, some to a location outside Harris' house, back in September. Three buses of asylum seekers sent by Abbott were supposed to New York late Saturday night, but they had to cancel due to the weather, according to CNN's Noah Gray. The migrants were sent by Texas and destined for NY, but "shifted to DC due to the weather," the migrants were picked up from the DC government to a DC church,' according to a tweet by the migrants.'
