On Thursday, day two of the Venice Film Festival was a low-key affair, with just a handful of celebrities attending the Ferrari premiere. The festival marks the start of the awards season and selects some of the top candidates for the Oscars. The Oscar awards went to films that premiered in Venice for eight of the last 11 Best Director awards in 2011. However, while it usually attracts the most well-known celebrity in Hollywood, actors have been putting off the festival this year because of SAG-AFTRA's strike bars, which have barred them from promoting their work in the region.
