DAN HODGES: If Galloway's triumph doesn't wake the elite from their slumbers, then what the hell will?

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 2, 2024
From the moment he landed in Rochdale, George Galloway's priorities were crystal clear. The truth is that the people of Rochdale did not reject the politics of bigotry. It was confiscated hungrily by the authorities. It's only been more than 30 years since our political party saw a similar bodyblow. Derek 'Daddy' Beackon, an unemployed lorry driver, won the Millwall council by-election in 1993, handing over the BNP, which was previously led by Nick Griffin.

After a shocking announcement of his death by former BNP leader Nick Griffin this week, Holocaust-denying historian David Irving is still alive, his family has revealed it. Following news that Irving, who dismissed Auschwitz gas chambers as a 'fairytale,' now needs 'round the clock care' after falling ill in Florida, Griffin's premature tribute came after reports earlier this month. The 85-year-old, who had been arrested, discredited, and bankrupted for his inflammatory remarks, arrived in the American state last October and his health has worsened ever since. Griffin, who led the nationalist BNP from 999 to 2014, when he was expelled from the party, prematurely announced Irving's death on X, formerly Twitter , on February 20

How sparks have flown at the Oxford Union, from OJ Simpson to Holocaust denier David Irving

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 30, 2023
For two centuries, the Oxford Union has hosted debates and addresses that have echoed far beyond the confines of the university's historic chamber. Professor Kathleen Stock's speech tonight is the latest in a long line of appearances at the Union that have resulted in violent demonstrations. A large number of speakers have been tested before the nation's most prestigious university audience since the debating society was established in 1823. Controversies have never been far away, from the classic 'King and Country' debate in 1933 to OJ Simpson's post-mortem charm offensive in 1996 (left and inset). Equally, the appearance of Holocaust denier David Irving (inset) and British National Party leader Nick Griffin (anti-BNP banner shown right) at the Union in 2007 sparked uproar.

DAN HODGES: Our metropolitan elite have been portrayed as out of touch by plain-speaking Lee Anderson

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 12, 2023
DAN HODGES: Lee Anderson, the plain-speaking former Labour councillor who represents a Red Wall swing seat in Nottinghamshire, has been in his new role for less than a week. However, he's already done his job. He's flushed out the liberal Left. He has demonned their thinly disguised resentment against anyone who dares to challenge their self-styled'prostute' consensus. And, most importantly, he's shown how the rise of 'cancel culture' is expected to ostracize vast swaths of the British working class.
