Adrian Meyer, a native of Angaston, South Australia, died after a strong current carried the reef away from him and a group of snorkelers. The son of a 71-year-old man who died on a snorkeling trip to the Great Barrier Reef claims he was approached by the tour boat's counsel while holding his father's body. On Monday afternoon, Adrian Meyer, of Angaston, South Australia, was drowned while snorkeling with a strong current over the reef. When the tragedy struck northeast of Cairns, he and his son Nicholas Meyer and daughter Angela Henson were about 60 kilometers off the coast northeast of Cairns.
