Nicholas James Masson (born August 7, 1996) is an American actor, dancer, guitarist, and educator.
He appeared on Newsies the Musical and the film, and Disney's Newsies the Broadway Musical.
Early life and education
Nicholas Masson was born in Hudson, New Hampshire, and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. He began studying dance at DancEnergy in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and later The Dance Company in Amherst, New Hampshire, at the age of three. In a national touring production of the Broadway musical Chitty Bang Bang Bang Bang, he made his professional theatre debut at the age of ten.
Masson graduated from Alvirne High School in 2014 after appearing in several local and regional theatre productions. He subsequently attended Point Park University in Pittsburgh, where he majored in dance.
Career
Masson appeared in the role of Mush on the first national tour of Disney Theatrical Productions' Newsies the Musical. In the role of Crutchie in that film, he was also a substitute. Masson appeared in Mush in the Disney film version of the stage musical, which had limited theatrical release in select movie theatres in 2017.
Masson has taught at numerous master classes and dance studios, as well as being on the dance faculty at the Broadway Connection in New York City as a teaching artist.
