EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Formula 1 is being ruined by political correctness, claims daughter of billionaire motor sports supremo Bernie Ecclestone

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Formula 1 is being ruined by political correctness, according to Tamara Ecclestone (left), whose billionaire father Bernie was the sport's supremo until 2017. Times have changed since he was in charge of running things, and they may have shifted slightly for the worse,' she tells me at the preview night for the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland in London. 'Everyone's very offended...You must be so careful about what you say.' And if you happen to think it's meant to be in jeopardy, it's all.' Lewis Hamilton (right) of F1 last year pleaded for the sport's 'grandees' to be silenced, saying, 'enough is sufficient.' He was referring to Nelson Piquet's (inset) use of a racial slur when referring to him, as well as Ecclestone's description of Russian President Vladimir Putin as a 'first-class individual.'
F1: Felipe Massa insists he was 'wronged' in the 2008 Singapore 'Crashgate' result

On the last lap of the season's most exciting finishes in Formula One, the former Ferrari world champion lost the title to McLaren's Lewis Hamilton by just a single point. Massa's hopes for the title had already been shattered in Singapore when it was revealed that Nelson Piquet had deliberately crashed his Renault into the wall in an attempt to support teammate Fernando Alonso's own championship aspirations. Massa dropped from first to 13th in the case of 'Crashgate,' according to the campaign's founder, Alonso. Massa eventually lost the championship by a point on the final day to Hamilton, which had pivotal implications. Ecclestone's remarks last month said that the F1 top brass knew of the Renault affair 'during the 2008 season,' even though it would have taken time to reverse the final decision, only angering Massa. And now, the 42-year-old, who pleaded guilty of taking legal action against the FIA, has reiterated his intention to press forward with what he considers a solid argument.
Lewis Hamilton is lauded by the Brazilian government for his racial and homophobic words. Nelson Piquet has been fined for his ethnic and homophobic words

Lewis Hamilton praised Brazilian authorities for awarding triple Formula One champion Nelson Piquet a huge fine for using racial and homophobic words in his remarks about the Mercedes driver. Piquet was ordered by a Brazilian court last week to compensate Hamilton for remarks he made about Hamilton in 2021 and 2016. Hamilton told reporters at Albert Park ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, "I still believe that we shouldn't be giving people that are just full of hate."
