Highs and lows at the Crucible: The World Snooker Championship was memorable for all the wrong reasons as the underwhelming play was overshadowed by events off the table

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 6, 2024
PETER CARLINE AT THE CRUCIBLE: The 2024 World Snooker Championship will be memorable…but for all the wrong reasons. No seed higher than 12 reached the semi-finals, there were no 147 breaks, nor even so much of a speck of orange flour.  Events instead were overshadowed by talk of a breakaway tour and possibly moving the event overseas after 2027 when World Snooker Tour's deal with Sheffield expires.

After seeing his car towed in Manchester, the Snooker champion claims he almost missed his world final victory, and his doubles partner could not resist a light-hearted remark on the star's expense!

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 1, 2024
On Sunday, the former world champion added to his rapidly growing list of titles as he team with Reanne Evans to defeat Mark Selby and Rebecca Kenna in the final of the World Mixed Doubles tournament. He was almost forced to miss the game, but after being sent on a mad rush to retrieve his car prior to the game in Manchester, he was about forced to cancel the game. He outlined how an error made him afraid of playing the game, but he seemed satisfied that all had been sorted out and he was able to get to the arena in time.

Despite being 'played awful,' Ronnie O'Sullivan has earned a reputation for being unbeatable this season, despite the fact that he hasn't been bad, according to rival Neil Robertson

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 31, 2024
Despite winning his last three tournaments, Ronnie O'Sullivan has been 'pretty bad,' this season, according to rival Neil Robertson. Both the UK Championship and the Masters, his record-breaking eighth victory, and then World Grand Prix success followed. And though he is on a 15-match winning streak since November, O'Sullivan, 48, has been critical of his results.
