Former General Hospital actors Nicolas Bechtel and Ryan Paevey have opened up about the negative effects of hurtful comments from fans.  Bechtel, 19, played Spencer Cassadine in several seasons of the program, while the latter portrayed Nathan West on the show for a total of five years. Bechtel began by writing that he was temporarily putting his acting career on hold in order to pursue higher education and expressed that many of the show's fans seemed to disagree with his choice to step away from the program.

Over £40,000 has been donated to charity by a Norwich fan who was pounded online by trolls. After giving an interview to The Pink Un ahead of Norwich's game against Millwall on Sunday, which attracted over 24 million viewers, Nathan West was mocked online. However, he has since received a lot of support from the football community, with Norwich players Angus Gunn and Shane Duffy among those to have contributed to West's fundraiser.
