Mladen Juran (born 8 May 1942) is a Croatian film producer, screenwriter, and actor. Juran was born in Zagreb.
In 1960, he graduated from high school in Split.
After receiving a diploma from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb in 1964, he moved to Paris, where he graduated from the Dramatic Arts College Charles Dullin at Théâtre National Populaire.
He performed as an actor and appeared on television and film, assassinating directors Michael Cacoyannis, Abel Gance, and Med Hondo during his studies.
After returning to Croatia, Juran began a career at national television in 1967.
He produced more than 200 films and television series of various genres since 1973 and has received acclaim for his 18-minute short film Transatlantic (1982) - described as a "surrealist representation of the Croatian migrant"'s tragic ending - which has been ranked among the best Croatian short films ever.
Both before and after making the short film, Juran was planning to make a film about the same theme, but hints at political emigration were not welcomed, and Juran's plan was only realized after the fall of communism.
The Living Photographs, a 1998 documentary about Croatian cinematography's early history, has been well-received, and was Croatia's nominee for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film that Year.

He began working in Paris as an intern for Lee Strasberg, the Artistic Director of the Actors Studio in 1967.
