Taylor Swift directed "All Too Well: The Short Film" when she first released "Red (Taylor's Version) in November 2021, her second of her recorded albums. Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien appear in "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" as a couple who fall in love and break up, along with the song "All Too Well (Taylor's Version). Swift appears at the end as the older and wiser version of Sink's character, complete with red hair, rather than serving as the short's director. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is eligible for an Academy Award at the 2023 ceremony, which takes place in the best live-action short category. The short's chance at a statue may be a little overwhelming for movie-lovers at first glance. From 1 January to 31 Dec., the eligibility period for feature-length films — the ones that qualify for best picture and best documentary — runs. However, the short-election window for shorts runs from 1 October, 2021, to September 30, 2022, making Swift's November film eligible for a 2023 award. On Sunday, "All Too Well: The Short Film" premiered at AMC Lincoln Square on Nov. 12 and lasted for a week, which is all it needs to get into Oscar consideration.
