Early career

He performed with the St. Michael Youth Club band as a drummer in his youth. He appeared on "The Track" at Tudor Grange Sports Centre in Solihull later in life. He was invited by Brian "Monk" Ffinch to perform with Wayne and the Beachcombers in Birmingham, which began his career as a professional musician, as a result of his efforts.
Kellie appeared in Birmingham in the Locomotive band of Chris Wood of Traffic in 1966 and later with the V.I.P. 's (later Art) in Carlisle.
Gary Wright, a guitarist and organist from the New York Times, was recruited to Art's line-up and formed Spooky Tooth with Kellie, Greg Ridley, Jimmy Emerson, Luther Grosvenor, and Mike Harrison.
Kellie joined Johnny Hallyday's band for a summer tour of France in 1974 before forming The Only Ones in 1976 with Peter Persott, Alan Mair, and John Perry.
The Only Ones, who are best known for their song "Another Girl, Another Planet," released three albums for CBS, but their catalog has since expanded to include many compilations and other items, which now outnumber their studio albums.
Johnny Thunders and his family migrated to London in February 1978 and began to perform with a loosening revue dubbed the Living Dead. Kellie, along with Perpett, Sex Pistols, and Paul Cook, were among the movers in this burgeoning line-up, and he and Thunders' So Alone's "You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory" on his album.
Kellie moved to the countryside north of Toronto, Canada, where he spent four years away from performing after the Only Ones' farewell in 1981 at London's Lyceum. He used this time to learn the piano and compose songs.
Break from music and later career
