Nathan Louis Jackson, a screenwriter, playwright, and director, died at the age of 44. Jackson, whose screenwriting credits include the Marvel show Luke Cage and the drama series Shameless, died in Lenexa, Kansas, on August 22, 2023, his wife Megan Mascorro-Jackson told The Hollywood Reporter. Jackson suffered from heart disease, and his wife informed the publication that he had an aortic dissection in 2019. His family has decided against doing an autopsy to determine his cause of death.

According to a press release, the Critics Choice Association (CCA) revealed the nominations on Wednesday for "the most coveted, fan-obsessed genres throughout both television and film, including Superhero, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, and Action.' Peters was nominated for Best Actor in a Horror Series, Limited Series, or Made-For-Movie, up against Jacob Anderson (What We Do in the Shadows), and Sam Reid (Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire).
