Mike Colter Career

Colter's first role was in the film Million Dollar Baby as boxer Big Willie Little. He also guest starred on Law & Order: Trial By Jury, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, The Good Wife, ER, and The Parkers as well as several TV movies. He starred in the series Ringer.

In 2012, he was featured in the final act of the film Men in Black 3, playing agent J's father in the year 1969.

In 2014, Colter began portraying the role of Agent Jameson Locke in the Halo franchise. Colter starred in the series Halo: Nightfall and provided the motion capture for Agent Locke in Halo 5: Guardians, and the voice acting is performed by Ike Amadi. He also co-starred as Luke Cage in Jessica Jones on Netflix. The first season was released online on November 20, 2015. This was followed by the character's own series, Luke Cage, and the first season was released on September 30, 2016. The second season release followed on June 22, 2018. In between the two seasons, Colter also played Luke in The Defenders. He also starred in the 2018 alien invasion movie Extinction.

Colter was announced as the male lead in the CBS drama pilot, Evil as David Acosta, a Catholic seminarian who assesses unexplained phenomena for supernatural or scientific explanations.

In 2020, Colter starred in the Netflix anthology series Social Distance.

Screenwriter, playwright and producer Nathan Louis Jackson has died at age 44. Jackson, whose screenwriting credits include the Marvel show Luke Cage and the drama series Shameless, passed at his home in Lenexa, Kansas on August 22, 2023, his wife Megan Mascorro-Jackson informed The Hollywood Reporter. Jackson suffered from heart issues, and in 2019 he had an aortic dissection, his wife told the outlet. His family have decided against having an autopsy done to learn his cause of death.

The Critics Choice Association (CCA) announced the nominations on Wednesday for the awards, which honor, 'the most popular, fan-obsessed genres across both television and movies, including Superhero, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, and Action,' according to a press release. Peters was nominated for Best Actor in a Horror Series, Limited Series or Made-For-TV-Movie, going up against Jacob Anderson (Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire), Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows) Mike Colter (Evil), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) and Sam Reid (Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire).

Sequels topped the box office over the January 27-29 weekend, but there were some surprise debuts, including an international thriller, a Christian-themed apocalyptic drama, and concert film featuring a Grammy winning superstar. Avatar: The Way of Water has topped the box office for the seventh week in a row. The fantasy adventure set on the world of Pandora recently earned four Oscar nominations, including one for Best Picture ahead of its weekend win, in which it collected $15.7 million.  The James Cameron-directed sequel has pushed past Star Wars: The Last Jedi to become the eleventh highest grossing film domestically of all time, according to Deadline.
