The Wayfarers Chapel announced that it would be 'ineffective immediately' as it was seen by many as the destination wedding venue of choice.' The chapel said in a statement this week that we are greatly sad to learn the closure of Wayfarers Chapel and its immediate area due to the increased land movement in our local area. Wayfarers were already well-known long before Wayfarers became a hotspot on Instagram and TikTok, and it was also hosted several celebrity weddings. They included the wedding of actress and Playboy Bunny Mansfield and actor Mickey Hargitay in 1958, as well as Beach Boys actor Brian Wilson's association with Melinda Ledbetter in 1995. It comes just months after the picturesque church was designated as a National Historic Landmark.
