Michelle Rodriguez Life

Mayte Michelle Rodriguez (born July 12, 1978) is an American actress.

In the independent film Girlfight (2000), she was feted with critical acclaim and rewarded with several accolades, including the Independent Spirit Award and Gotham Award for Best Debut Performance.

She appeared in Letty Ortiz' blockbuster film The Fast and Furious (2001), a role she has reprised in five other Fast & Furious films.

Rodriguez has appeared in a number of hit action films, including Resident Evil, S.W.A.T., and Avatar, over her career. In the second season of the television drama Lost, Rodriguez branched out to television, portraying Ana Lucia Cortez.

She has appeared in video games such as Call of Duty and Halo, as well as lending her voice to the 3D animated film Turbo and the television series IGPX.

Rodriguez was described as "arguably the most iconic actress in the action genre" and "one of the most visible Latinas in Hollywood" by her earnings, which total revenue exceeded $5 billion (U.S.).

Early life

Mayte Michelle Rodriguez was born in San Antonio, Texas, on July 12, 1978. Carmen Milady Rodriguez (née Pared Espinal), a Dominican woman, was born in Dominica, while Rafael Rodriguez, her father, was Puerto Rican and served in the United States Army. When she was eight years old, Rodriguez and her mother moved to the Dominican Republic and lived there until age 11. She then moved to Puerto Rico until the age of 17, and then settled in Jersey City, New Jersey. She dropped out of William L. Dickinson High School, but she later earned her GED. She was suspended from five colleges in total. She attended business school for a brief time before deciding to pursue a career in acting, with the ultimate aim of becoming a screenwriter and director. Rodriguez has 10 siblings and half-siblings. She was partially raised by her devoutly religious maternal grandmother and was brought up as a Jehovah Witness (her mother's faith), but she has since left the faith. According to a DNA test of Rodriguez, her ancestry is 74% European, 21.3% African, and 6.3% Native American. On the program, she also stated that there was some racial duress between her families, because her Puerto Rican father had a light complexion and her Dominican mother had a dark complexion.

Personal life

Rodriguez's interests include tactical rifle training, skydiving, and DJing.

Rodriguez canceled an engagement with a Muslim boyfriend in early 2000, citing her resistance to religious demands she had made of her. Vin Diesel, her Fast & Furious co-star, dated her in 2001.

"I've been both directions" she wrote in 2013. I do as I please. I'm too curious to sit here and not try when I can. Men are mysterious. Chicks are also chicks." "I'm getting older," she told Latina magazine, "I'm getting older." It's likely that it'll get wrinkled up, and I'm not going to be able to use it. I wanted to be transparent about who I am and see what happens." "Maybe by opening my big fat mouth like I do and stepping up and being who I am," she said in a chat with the following year. In another interview later this month, she revealed herself as bisexual. "I, yeah, I fall under the B-category of LGBT." "What's wrong with being bi?" she wondered about the lack of unconventional female roles in films. We're getting flak everywhere we go, so we're getting it everywhere we go.'

Rodriguez was arrested for assault in March 2002 after being involved in a brawl with her roommate. The charges were later dropped after the roommate refused to press the charges in court.

Rodriguez was arrested and charged with eight misdemeanor charges based on two road occurrences, including a hit and run and driving under the influence (DUI). Rodriguez pleaded no contest in Los Angeles to three of the charges: hit and run, inebriated driving, and driving with a suspended license. She went to prison for 48 hours, administered community service at two New York hospitals, completed a three-month alcohol program, and was sentenced to three years in probation.

Rodriguez was arrested multiple times by Honolulu police for speeding-violations in 2005, and he was arrested on December 1 for DUI. She pleaded guilty to one charge of driving under the influence of alcohol in April 2006 and suspended a US$500 fine and five days in jail.

She cited her high doses of allergy-relieving steroids as part of her erratic behavior. Because the offence was a breach of her Los Angeles probation, she was sentenced to 60 days in jail, a 30-day alcohol rehabilitation service, and another 30 days of community service, including Mothers Against Drunk Driving. She was released from jail the same day she entered due to overcrowding.

Rodriguez reportedly breached her probation by neither finishing her community service nor attending an alcohol education course in September 2007. Following a hearing, she was sentenced to 180 days in prison for admitting to breaching her probation. She had intended to serve the full 180 days in prison but was released 18 days later due to overcrowding. Rodriguez completed her community service in January 2009.
