We stayed at 'Britain's worst holiday park' and could only last one night in the horrible conditions - but even after we left our ordeal wasn't over

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 10, 2024
A father claims his family were forced to flee the 'worst holiday park ever' after just one night when they found bed stains and bugs in their room. Richard and Lindsay Brown had booked a three-night stay at the holiday park with their four daughters for the cut price of just £195. It was to be their first family trip away with their three-month old baby, but they claim the conditions at the site left them no choice but to curtail their holiday early. Richard said an unsafe playground which left his 11-year-old daughter injured and having to walk for '20 minutes down 50mph roads' to reach the beach ruined their experience. The 35-year-old claims that when he posted the videos detailing their time there he was then 'bullied' online by friends of the holiday park who accused him of lying and sent abusive messages. The holiday park claims the family have 'grossly misrepresented the circumstances of their stay' and that there are 'rigorous' checks in place to ensure conditions are clean. It added that the family had received a full refund and the 'majority of customers enjoy their experience of staying with us', while it has received a number of five star reviews online.

Lincoln Brookes, senior coroner for Essex, said he received a series of 'very bizarre' letters in 2022 before receiving emails in April 2023 stating that 'corporal punishment may be administered'. He described the emails, which claimed to be warrants 'for seizure of goods and persons', as 'troubling' and 'upsetting'.

'Cult' member accused of plot to kidnap a coroner tells trial he is a 'man of honour' who deals with 'state child trafficking'

Matthew Martin, 47, of Plaistow, east London, became emotional at times while addressing jurors from the witness box.
