Basil Zempilas, 51, has confirmed that September 23 would be his last day as co-co-host of Perth's Triple M breakfast program. Zempilas resigned from the job to concentrate on his role as Perth Lord Mayor and other media duties. Zempilas joined Triple M two years ago at the start of the global Covid 19 pandemic, but he immediately came under fire for using the airwaves to advance his campaign to become Perth's Lord Mayor before winning the referendum in October 2020.
