Tina Turner was a hero in every sense of the word, and her death on May 24th sparked a slew of tributes as well as a renewed interest in her life story. Turner's life was marked by tremendous courage, and the comeback she launched in the 1980s after leaving her abused husband in 1976 showed her how to recover from the ashes after suffering. Turner, fortunately, in the first few decades of her life, she found new love and happiness, as well as a new home. Turner died at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, but she immigrated to Switzerland in 1995. As it turns out, love had something to do with her decision to leave America, but her own desire for peace and anonymity also played a role.
