Stuhlbarg was reportedly assaulted while walking outside Central Park on the Upper East Side by Xavier Israel, 27, a homeless man with two previous arrests for assault under his belt, and the show began Monday evening. Israel reportedly struck the actor in the back of the neck with a rock, causing a scratch and bruise.

According to cops, Stuhlbarg, 55, was approached seemingly at random by the perpetrator in an upscale neighborhood close to Central Park on Sunday evening. Around 7:30 p.m., Xavier Israel, 27, threw a brick at his head, striking him in the back of the neck, while walking close to 90th and East Drive in the Upper East Side. Stuhlbarg suffered "minor injuries" and he chased Israel down to the Russian consulate in East 91st Street, where cops were stationed outside of him. In a dramatic security video obtained by DailyMail.com, a local business caught the chase on camera.
