Michael Stern Life

Michael Stern (August 3, 1910 – April 7, 2009) was an American journalist, writer, and philanthropist.

He published some of the first reports from a reunited Rome, Italy, in June 1944 as a reporter during World War II.

He continued to work with Zachary Fisher in the establishment of the Intrepid Sea-Space Museum in New York City, New York, United States.

Early life

Stern was born on August 3, 1910, at a farm in New York City's Brooklyn borough and attended Alexander Hamilton High School (now Paul Robeson High School) there. He majored in journalism at Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York, and dropped out of classes right away right before his graduation.
