True crime enthusiasts are flocking to the little rural location that was once known as the scene for the infamous nineties' 'Essex Boys' shooting. In December 1995, three drug dealers were shot and killed in a Range Rover in Rettendon, Essex.

Michael Steele, a gangland killer who was executed for the horrific triple murders in 1995, faces a parole hearing if he is to be released from the life term. Patrick Tate (left inset) and Craig Rolfe (right inset) were killed by the Steele, as well as Jack Whomes (right) on a pump action shotgun. The killings closely resembled Sean Bean's 2000 film Essex Boys (top inset).
