Campaigners have called on the Government to make Afro hair a protected characteristic to prevent race discrimination in schools and the workplace. The campaign group World Afro Day (WAD) came to Parliament to convince MPs to amend the 2010 Equality Act to add the specification for Afro hair. More than 100 public figures, including Mel B, Beverley Knight, Patrick Hutchinson, Fleur East, Evelyn Forde and Professor Patrick Vernon, have signed an open letter to the Government supporting the change

A longtime Los Angeles comedian who once went on America’s Got Talent and became a fan favorite for his act has died after being struck and killed by a car in a hit-and-run crash.

According to the LAPD, 73-year-old comedian Perry Kurtz was killed late on Thursday night after he was hit by a car in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. Per the cops, an 18-year-old identified as Nathon Jaimes has been arrested for felony hit-and-run, and for fleeing the scene of the deadly crash that claimed Kurtz’s life.

But following the ceremony, Scary Spice took to Instagram on Wednesday to share family snaps of her big day - including her three children, Phoenix, 25, Angel, 17, and Madison, 12. In an adorable family photo shared by Phoenix, Mel posed with her children against a sparkly backdrop as all four sported cheesy grins. While in another snaps posted by Mel herself, the four were joined by the singer's boyfriend Rory McPhee.

Ruby, who is a comedian and mental health advocate, 71, took to her Instagram to share several snaps of herself and Mel, 49, enjoying a girl's night in.  In one snap, the pair posed for a pouty selfie as they larked about in the kitchen together, clearly having formed a close bond while filming the show. 

Mel B's ex-husband Stephen Belafonte could be probed by British cops over the Spice Girl's claims he harassed her.  Belafonte, an American film producer, allegedly harassed her while he was in the UK last week - police are investigating the incident, the Sun reported.  Mel B's ex-husband was in the UK visiting, and brough their daughter Madison, 12, along so she could visit her mother.
