In 1984, Valentine's Day was skated to victory at the Sarajevo Winter Olympics, winning the gold medal and receiving the highest ever score for a single goal. And now, 40 years after, Jayne Torvill, 66, and Christopher Dean, 65, are skating for good as they have announced their retirement. The British skating pair will embark on one last UK tour next year, marking their swansong and 50th anniversary of their skating partnership in 1975. The pair decided that it was the 'right time' to stop skating, and that they did not spring chickens anymore and wanted to walk away, but they are still able to do it to a certain extent,' Dean said. After skating to Maurice Ravel's Boléro at the Zetra Olympic Hall in Sarajevo, the pair became international stars, resulting in a standing ovation.
