Peter Hoskin REVIEW: Remember Stars in Their Eyes? The telly show with Matthew Kelly? There's more than just a touch of Stars in Their Eyes about Back to Black, Sam Taylor-Johnson's new biopic of that most talented, most troubled of singers, Amy Winehouse . 'Tonight, Matthew,' its lead actress, Marisa Abela , seems to say, 'I'm going to be Amy Winehouse.' The same uplifted hairdo. The same lip piercing and tattoos. The same London drawl and jazzy singing voice.

PATRICK MARMION reviews Noises Off a Clock is a comedy based on precision of a high end cuckoo clock

PATRICK MARMION: The scenery is supposed to wobble. The gags are supposed to make us groan. And the rain-dropping, door-banging mania is likely to creak like the Mary Celeste. Michael Frayn's vintage farce, which stars Felicity Kendal, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Alexander Hanson, and Matthew Kelly, is right up there with Fawlty Towers as a bravura piece of comedy plotting. Nor does Lindsay Posner's clockwork show no respect, owing to music between acts that is notably reminiscent of the TV show's theme tune. This is unlike John Cleese's comedies, but there are no familiar characters such as Basil, Sybil, and The Major. And it's certainly showing its age, with gags including a mention of Dame Myra Hess (a once-famous pianist, M'Lud) who performed during the air raids.
