MATT HUGHES: The Premier League has suspended Nottingham Forest four points for breaching Profit and Sustainability legislation. Forest, who released a strongly worded statement in response to their points deduction, hasn't been given a positive reception. The penalty, they said, had 'harmed their reputation and faith in the Premier League,' and that their fiscal laws would'destroy mobility in the football pyramid.' After an independent commission found Forest to have exceeded the league's permitted limits by around £34.5 million between 2020 and 2023, they will follow Everton as the second club to have been fined this year for breaches to the Premier League's financial laws.

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 14, 2022
MIKE KEEGAN SPORTS AGENDA: With every passing display, the BBC's decision to withdraw the classified football scores from Sports Report's 5 p.m. becomes more bizarre. Despite the outrage unleashed when Sports Agenda revealed that they had abandoned a national institution, the bosses remained silent for a second week. According to the broadcaster, a reduced showtime of 30 minutes, as a result of them securing the commentary rights to the 5.30pm kick-off, meant they did not have time to determine the 'five-seven minutes' it takes to read the scores. On Sunday morning, BBC Radio 4 blasted Auntie's blunder openly and humourously. Mark Pougatch (pictured), the program's founder, found out spoof findings, beginning with 'Knutsford 0 Nuts Decision 2', the program's traditional tones.
