Daughter of BBC commentator John Hunt was still alive with a crossbow bolt in her chest when police arrived, as inquest hears phone line cut out as she told 999 handler the killer's name and her address

Hannah Hunt, 28, called 999 to tell emergency services she, along with her younger sister Louise, 25, and mother Carol, 61, had been shot at their home in Bushey, Hertfordshire on July 9. At 6.58pm she informed the call handler of 'the name of the person responsible', told them their address at Ashlyn Close and requested an ambulance before the phone line cut out, Hertfordshire Coroner's Court heard. Hertfordshire Police had already been informed of the incident by the Metropolitan Police force, after an unnamed member of the public alerted them as Hannah had sent them a text saying she had been 'tied up', coroner Geoffrey Sullivan heard.

BBC racing commentator John Hunt whose wife and two daughters were killed in a crossbow attack says every message of support 'feels like a hug'

Matt Chapman, an ITV commentator, said Mr Hunt was 'very thankful that people are thinking about' him and his third daughter, Amy, following the horrific attack in their Hertfordshire home earlier this month. His wife Carol Hunt, 61, and two of their daughters, Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, were found fatally injured at the house in Ashlyn Close, Bushey, on July 9. Speaking to the BBC, Mr Chapman said Mr Hunt had told him that 'every message that's been sent, every one of those messages feels like a hug'. 'As far as what's happened, it's still beyond belief that this could happen to anyone, a family in the world,' Mr Chapman said. 'The message from all of us is when you need us [John], we are here.'

Grief-stricken BBC racing commentator John Hunt urges people to 'make the most of every day' with their family after his wife and two daughters were killed in crossbow attack

Carol Hunt, 61, (left, with John) Hannah Hunt, 28, (top right) and Louise Hunt, 25, (bottom right) were fatally injured at their home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, last Tuesday. John's friend and fellow commentator, Matt Chapman, said more than £28,000 from a fundraiser set up after the horrifying attack would help his surviving daughter, Amy. 'Family means more to some than others and for John, his family unit was something he absolutely adored,' Mr Chapman said. 'He told me: ''Matty, the message I would tell everyone is you never know when it's going to be the last day you see your family''. The message was very clear: make the most of every day because you just don't know.'
