He went on to appear in a cameo in Alan Parker's film version of the musical. In the SAS action film Who Dares Wins directed Ian Sharp, he left Evita to play Mac.

Michael Bay used the lines Ryan wrote for Bumblebee in the film when Ryan was in the studio recording his lines for the actors on set. For the sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and the Activision Game based on the film, he reprised to voice Bumblebee and Jetfire. Ryan continued voice work on Transformers in early 2009: The Fallen's Revenge of the Fallen, who worked closely with Michael Bay and Alex Kurtzman almost right up to the film's debut.

The online magazine ComicMix launched Ryan's The Pilgrim, a graphic novel based on true events during the Second World War and focusing on modern psychic warfare study and drawn by comic artist Mike Grell in November 2008. Parts of the story are believed to be based on Ryan's experiences during his time as a member of the Intelligence Corps and Special Forces.
