Mark Michael Brzezicki (born 21 June 1957, Slough, Berkshire, England) is a British rock drummer who is best known for his appearance with Big Country and was a member of the Cult, Ultravox, From The Jam, and Procol Harum. Arthur Brown, Roger Daltrey, The Mad World Of Arthur Brown, Peter Townshend, The Pretenders, Nik Kershaw, and many others. * He was also the drummer on Shine, the second and final English language album released by ABBA Frida. * He uses both traditional and matched grips. Brzezicki is the son of a Polish war soldier and an English mother. * Brzezicki left Big Country in July 1989 but resurfaced in 1993. Big Country began gigging in 2007 as part of their 25th anniversary tour, along with bassist Tony Butler and guitarist Bruce Watson. Brzezicki helped found Casbah Club in 2004, with Bruce Foxton and Simon Townshend. In the 1980s, Smash Hits performed a running gag in which they referred to him as "Mark Unpronounceable name of Big Country." * On Pete Townshend's book All the Greatest Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes and White City: A Novel Collection There are joking references to his last name. Steve's brother, Steven, is a session bassist with whom he often collaborates. On October 10, 2009, Mark Brzezicki re-joined The Cult on stage at the Royal Albert Hall, London. He performed "The Phoenix" and "She Sells Sanctuary" as a second and final encore to a live performance of Love by Ian Astbury, Billy Duffy, and Jamie Stewart, with whom he had recorded their Love (1985) album. Brzezicki is currently drumming in the reformed Thunderclap Newman line up. *He was drummer of From The Jam from 2009 to 2013 alongside original The Jam drummer Bruce Foxton. * In 2013, he resigned to rejoin Big Country. In 2016, he appeared on Bruce Foxton's album Smash the Clock in all but one track.
