Liverpool fans had hoped the Europa League final in Dublin on May 22 would give Klopp a perfect send-off before leaving the club. 'It was a really bad game, oh my God,' groaned the German manager.

Inter Milan scored twice inside the first four minutes but they had to defeat Atalanta 3-2 at home on Saturday, guaranteeing them a top-four finish in Serie A. Lazio, who is in third place, is just one point behind Inter in their match against Cremonese on Sunday.

ATALANTA 3-1 ROMA: Atalanta boosted their odds of returning to Europe after defeating Roma 3-1 in Serie A on Monday. After being set up by Duvan Zapata, Mario Pasalic put Atalanta ahead of the break. With a bouncing shot that Roma defender Diego Llorente headed into his own goal in a lost clearing attempt, Rafael Toloi doubled the advantage midway through the second half. Teun Koopendras regained the two-goal lead after Lorenzo Pellegrini's failed to return one back to Roma.

On Tuesday, Croatia midfielder Mateo Kovacic scored a 2-0 victory over Turkey in their Euro 2024 qualifier as the hosts advanced to second position in Group D, with goalkeeper Mert Gunok leaving the hosts motionless after a failed attempt by the defence to clear the ball.
