Maria Adelaide Amaral (born in Alfena on July 1, 1942) is a Portuguese playwright, screenwriter, and novelist. A large portion of her drama is concerned about the disaffected urban professionals. Maria Adelaide Amaral biographed Brazilian comedian Dercy Gonçalves in 1994, one of two leading women playwrights in Brazil, the other being Leilah Assunço.
