The Mariners and Jets are separated by a stretch of the F3 motorway, also known as the M1 - and a unique trophy was created to be lifted by the Mariners' F3 Derby bragging rights throughout the season - last year it was the Mariners who triumphed as they won all three of their games against the Jets. Central Coast defeated McDonald Jones Stadium 3-1, putting them back to top for two of their three games against their arch rivals this season.
