When a tornado was declared and observed heading toward St Louis, the game was postponed and officials advised fans to stay inside the stadium shortly after 7:30 p.m. EST. Fans were still waiting for the weather to pass, and by 9:46 p.m. EST (8:46 p.m. local) it was finally announced that the game would begin an hour later, at almost 10 p.m. local time and 11 p.m. on the east coast.
